Why this exists
A practice runs a record system, a practice management system, a clearinghouse, and a payment tool. Each one reports its own version of the month. The record system counts encounters, the billing system counts claims, the bank counts deposits, and the three numbers rarely line up. Most practices resolve that by picking whichever report is closest to hand.
The work here is the reconciliation. We connect read-only to the systems already in place, tie the numbers together, and send back one monthly review of margin per encounter, denials by reason, payer yield against contract, and capacity. No one on staff changes how they work.
How the research is done
The articles on this site cite named sources. Every figure is attributed in the sentence to the organisation that published it, whether that is MGMA, KFF, the American Medical Association, CMS, HFMA, or Becker's, and each article ends with the full source list. Where a number cannot be traced to a named, current source, it does not appear.
